He holds degrees in economics from Fordham University and Columbia University and also attended the University of Edinburgh. Bob has lectured on the role of coaching in career choice to mid-career professionals at 40+ of Greater Washington, D.C. and has written on the role of coaching in executive training.
Bob's Vision for public health coaching: "Coaching as practiced in the various public health training programs offered by MIDEGO promotes a deeper understanding and adaptation of the skills taught in these programs, thereby facilitating not only successful outcomes but also the development of a learning culture in individuals, groups and organizations. Coaching facilitates change in behavior, and when combined with training ensures that the lessons learned are adapted to the individual or group's particular needs. Therefore, coaching replaces a one-size-fits-all training experience with individually crafted learning experiences that have a significant impact on the day-to-day job performance of public health officials. MIDEGO's goal is to multiply these learning experiences throughout developing countries by training individuals as coaches so that the essential organizational skills taught can reach the widest possible audience."
