Consulting
MIDEGO provides public health and development consulting services and products to help reach the Millennium Development Goals. We believe that the lack of technical knowledge and management support is the main gap in reaching the Millennium Development Goals. Therefore, we specialize in developing affordable and simple yet powerful tools and approaches to bring the required knowledge to those that need it the most.
MIDEGO offers a number of consulting products and services to implement public health and development projects and program. We have focused on strengthening three processes that are crucial in delivering successful solutions in health and development: program and project design, start-up assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The main goal of the tools and approaches MIDEGO uses is to maximize the return on every dollar invested in public health and development.
MIDEGO has a team of experienced staff and consultants to provide onsite and virtual consulting services. Our “virtual consulting” services allow our clients to get the help they need within 24 hours or less. Our staff coaches health and development professionals to overcome challenges every day. Asset-Based Management
Every health facility of program has tangible and intangible assets that are often overlooked. These assets include equipment and material resources and staff and their experience and collective knowledge.Maximizing the use of these assets is a skill usually overlooked and the cornerstone on which to build improvement and expand services. Asset-Based Management (ABM) is a set of tools that MIDEGO uses to identify “assets” in the health system and uncover improvement opportunities for managers and providers to make the best of what they already have.
ABM allows you to deliver quality services consistently and efficiently. It also helps you identify opportunities for making service delivery gender-oriented.
If you manage a public health program, if you work for a government-run health care facility or for a faith-based or non-profit organization, or if you are a physician in private practice, you can improve your performance and benefit from becoming an "Asset-Based Manager."

Health Management Scorecard
The Health Management Scorecard (HMS) is a flexible tool that allows you to access effective information, make management decisions, and keep track of your goals.
HMS is also a simple management and communication tool to keep you and your team on the same page and on target.
If you need better ways of measuring how your service, projects, or programs are doing; if you need to compare which of several activities is performing better; or if you need to make strategic or operational decisions, you can benefit from the HMS.
Hospital Development Systems
Hospitals play a pivotal role in improving the health of their communities. As centers of reference where most experienced staff work and are trained, hospitals need to lead the efforts to improve quality of care in their areas of coverage. MIDEGO uses its Hospital Development Systems (HDS) tools to identify opportunities for rapid improvement in hospital performance.
HDS comprises a number of tools that enable hospital leaders to play a proactive role in implementing improvements, even when they have limited resources.
HDS contains an innovative community module that helps hospitals become an effective center of reference for the health centers and clinics in their catchment area. This way, hospitals can maximize their impact on the community they serve.
Value-Added Analysis
Like the Health Management Scorecard (HMS), Value-Added Analysis is a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tool. With it, you build on your knowledge of your staff, service, or program, and monitor and evaluate processes, products, and results.
Value-Added Analysis (VAA) uses M&E information to identify those steps that add value to your goals, that are crucial to quality service, and that rapidly help you streamline activities and scale up your program.
Community-Oriented Primary Care
A unique feature of MIDEGO’s services is the use of Community-Oriented Primary Care (COPC) Methodology. Developed by Professor Sidney Kark in South Africa in the late 1940s, Community-Oriented Primary Care is a simple and powerful methodology that allows you to focus your resources on those public health programs that will make the greatest difference in your community.
COPC strategically integrates facility- and community-based services; public health and family and community medicine; clinical and epidemiological information; and promotional, preventive, and curative services.
Rural South Africa, Spain, Israel, the United States, and other developed and developing countries have benefited from COPC. MIDEGO has focused on developing and adapting the implementation and management of COPC programs and provides live seminars and online coaching to those interested in the approach.
MIDEGO provides free, unlimited, virtual coaching using email, Skype and online meeting services to those who complete the COPC seminar and go on to implement COPC programs in their community. Please ask for a calendar of seminars and online program at info@midego.com.
Knowledge Management
MIDEGO has created the Knowledge NOW Approach (KNA) to transform information overload or lack of effective information into knowledge to make decisions and take action.
MIDEGO also creates Virtual Communities of Practice and provides assistance with documenting and sharing lessons learned and best practices. Visit our Forum and join one or our Virtual Communities of Practice.
